It has been a very happy term, starting with LAMDA exams, in which all our students passed with flying colours! We must give a particular shout out to both our Gold Medal students Harry and Louie, who received extremely high distinction marks, for such hard and involved exams! Huge Congratulations, to all our exam students!

Lily M-L took part in the ‘Performing Shakespeare Competition’, a National, Shakespeare Competition by the English Speaking Union, for students aged between 11-14 years and she won this round, placing her in the regional finals, which will take place on the 20th May. Super work! We wish her all the very best for the next round.

We then finished this term, with our ‘Youth Group’ performing the most energetic, pacy and polished performance of ‘Macbeth, Macbeth, Macbeth, Macbeth, Macbeth’ on the 28th March for ‘The National Theatre CONNECTIONS Festival’! It was an incredibly moving performance and the feedback has been really quite something! So much praise!

What does term 5 hold in store!

Our NT Connections play ‘Macbeth, Macbeth, Macbeth, Macbeth, Macbeth’ will be performed again on the 19^th April at the Trinity Theatre, Tunbridge Wells at 7pm by our excellent youth group. So there is still a chance to see this excellent play if you missed it in March! Come and support our wonderful students in this excellent new play for everyone!

Our Robin group are performing ‘Summer Nights’ on Friday 15^th May at the Hippodrome Theatre at 7pm.

Tickets are available from the Hippodrome website and box office. This production is already very well rehearsed and promises to be an evening to treasure forever, with energy and joy in abundance!

What does the rest of the year hold in store?

Our youngest children are performing, a wonderful adaptation of ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’, [particularly written for children], on the 6th June at The Grove Theatre at 3pm. This is starting to look really wonderful!

Our LAMDA showcase will be on the 4^th July at the Blind Society, Longstone Road at 2pm.

Our summer LAMDA exam day will be the 11^th July 9am – 12.30pm.

Our youth group will perform the famous Shakespeare tragedy Macbeth on the 19^th July at 3pm and 7pm and at 5pm on the 20th July, at the Grove Theatre.

Our Community Group will perform Alice in Wonderland at the Grove Theatre on the 28^th and 29^th November. [We will start rehearsals for this from May 9th.]

Our under 12’s Home Ed group will perform at the ‘St. Andrews Christmas Tree Festival’ on the 4^th December at 1pm.

What does term 4 hold in store!

Our next LAMDA exam day is 21st February at the Blind Centre from 9am-12 midday.
Wishing all our students taking LAMDA exams, ranging from Grade 2 – Gold Medal, all the very best!

Happy New Year 2026! We hope you had a wonderful Christmas.

What an incredible terms 1 & 2 we had last year!

‘Romeo and Juliet’ was an incredible success with wonderful audiences who all raved about the students enthralling, truthful performances! ‘Stepping Out’, with our adult cast, was such a heart warming experience with the adult students shining brightly in this comedy drama, depicting real people so convincingly. ‘The Jungle Book’, performed by our wonderfully talented Community cast aged from 7-70+ years, was a beautiful, artistic, funny and moving Christmas treat. Our under 12’s groups performed very sweet and funny Christmas recitals and concerts to both their parents and the wider community at Printers Playhouse and ‘St Andrews Church Christmas Tree Festival’ just before Christmas. Thank you all for your support and brilliance!

What an incredible term 1 we have just had!

Romeo and Juliet was an incredible success with wonderful audiences who all raved about the students enthralling, truthful performances! Huge congratulations to our Youth Group who worked tirelessly to create such an excellent version of this particularly famous and iconic play. Thank you parents, for all your support with the promotion of this wonderful production!

Stepping Out, with our adult cast, was such a heart warming experience with the adult students shining brightly in this comedy drama, depicting real people so convincingly.

Throughout both these productions there was total support, warmth and kindness from everyone in both casts and crew, with humour and a happy atmosphere throughout. All credit to all our wonderful students, staff, helpers and chaperones.

The Home Ed students will also be performing on the 5^th December from 1.30pm-2.30pm at The Christmas Tree Festival, at St. Andrews Church, Seaside Road [near big Tesco’s on Lottbridge Drive]

Our next LAMDA exam day is 15^th November 2025. Becky and two parents will be taking a small group of students up to the LAMDA public examinations, at the Drama School on Talgarth Road, to take their exams.

2025 Autumn Term News

We hope you have had a great summer. We now welcome the Autumn in, with a new school year and term 1.

We have many exciting projects and performances happening this term and for the rest of this year, 2025.

Our shows –

Romeo and Juliet performed by our very talented young people, with street dance, skate boarding/skating, a live DJ and Band, current music, stage fighting and excellent acting is on the 4th and 5^th October at the Turing Theatre with tickets starting at £5! Our final term of the school year and the lead up to our exciting whole school Summer show for all our groups on the 5^th July at The Hippodrome Theatre and our LAMDA showcase for all our solo/duo students at the EODS Centre on the 19^th July!

Tickets for the 5th July Summer Show, showcasing full performances of ‘Mary Poppins’, and ‘The Wizard of Oz!’ and showing ‘Stepping Out’ snippets and ‘Romeo and Juliet’ Snippets, finishing with a BSL signed poem involving every student, can be bought from the hippodrome box office online and at the theatre box office.

Massive congratulation to the cast of our National Theatre Connections play ‘Mia and the Fish’ for their final performance at the Trinity Theatre on the 27^th April. They received high praise from National Theatre staff who said it was a fantastically inclusive, beautifully staged, cleverly lit, student led production.

2025 Term 4 News

Thank you all for being so supportive over this last term and for all your kindness. I must particularly thank Lisa and Sam for holding the fort for me when I haven’t been able to be in lessons, and for Lisa for completely running the Adult drama sessions preparing for the play, Stepping Out, this term.

All the pieces for the Summer show, The Wizard of Oz, Mary Poppins, Romeo and Juliet and Stepping Out are already looking fantastic. We will be performing these on the 5th July as part of our big summer show with our whole drama school and all our groups, finishing with a finale that every student will participate in, which we will start working on next term. Tickets now can be bought from The Hippodrome box office online and at the theatre.

Huge well done to all our students who took LAMDA exams on the 8^th February, every student received a distinction which is the highest accolade for these exams.

Massive congratulation to the cast of our National Theatre Connections play ‘Mia and the Fish’. Our NT Director/mentor Luke, was full of praise in his feedback for the talent, imagination, creativity, total inclusion, team work and kindness of the group. He absolutely loved our vision and commented on the general atmosphere of the drama community, the audience and the support from the families as being so welcoming and refreshing and that our group were everything the NT Connections Festival is about and stands for. To see this wonderful performance, there are still tickets available on the 27^th April at the Trinity Theatre Tunbridge wells, 7pm.

This is a totally student voiced/student led project. So far from the raffle and Go fund me, we have raised just under £500 to hire a coach for the students to travel to Tunbridge Wells, (thank you) but the coach costs £785. So we still have £285 to raise, so there’s no extra cost for parents.

2025 Term 3 News

We hope you all had a happy holidays and Christmas period and we look forward to starting back to a new year of drama fun and performances in 2025!

We wish all our students and their families a happy, healthy, safe, peaceful and calm new year!

We look back to the end of last year 2024, and celebrate the wonderful performances from the last term of ‘The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe’ and ‘Oliver’. Huge congratulations to all our students involved in both these beautiful productions!

We now look ahead to this years events! Starting with LAMDA exams on the 8^th February and followed by our National Theatre Connections play ‘Mia and the Fish’ on March 29^th at 2pm and 6pm at the EODS Centre, and on the 27^th April at the Trinity Theatre Tunbridge Wells, 7pm. This play is already looking extremely beautiful and the students are working so well as a team with many of them leading the production decisions, this is a totally student voiced/student led project. We are fund raising via GoFundMe to hire a coach for the students to travel to Tunbridge Wells.

Mary Poppins with our ‘Robin group’ is now well on the way and is already bringing a tear to the eye. Two of our younger students are playing Jane and Michael with our ‘Robins’ playing the adult roles. We will be performing this at the Hippodrome Theatre on the 5th July and it will open our Summer Show, alongside clips from forthcoming productions from our parent and adults groups play ‘Stepping Out’ our teenagers and young peoples play ‘Romeo and Juliet‘ and a performance from our youngest children.

2024 Term 2 News

We have had a very exciting term starting new plays and projects.

Romeo and Juliet is already set up to the interval and is looking really very dynamic indeed, with guest teachers from the industry coming into teach specialist areas of dance and stage fighting!

Stepping Out, again is already looking very authentic and the adults in this group have tackled tap dancing admirably, many never having danced a step before!

Mary Poppins with our ‘Robin Group’ is looking beautiful with some of the main numbers set and it is already bringing a tear to the eye. Two of our younger students are playing Jane and Michael with our ‘Robins’ playing the adult roles. We will be performing this at the Hippodrome Theatre on the 5^th July and it will open our Summer Show.

Our youngest children’s version of ‘Oliver’ with 5 of the original songs from the musical, is all set and the students are working very hard to polish it ready for the performances on the 5th/6th December to parents, families, friends and at a local nursing home. This is going to be very heart warming indeed! To reserve seats for the 5^th December at EODS. Please just let Becky know how many seats you need. Tickets are £5, pay on the door.

Please note that the Friday home ed group will come to rehearsals with the Wednesday group to merge both groups together for this production, on Wednesday 27^th November 4.40pm-5.40pm and Wednesday 4^th December 4.40pm-5.40pm. On the 5^th December, all children in OLIVER, will need to arrive at 4.40pm to get ready and run through the performance, before the show. Parents can arrive from 5.30pm for the performance at 6pm. We will be providing Christmas refreshments. The performance at the Claremont Nursing Home is at 5pm on the 6^th December, please arrive in costume by 4.45pm. Thank you

Our forth coming performances of the ‘Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe’ on the 23rd November 2pm/7pm and the 24th November at 5pm are looking stunning, this cast of adults and children and young people are working so hard. We are excited to start our new National Theatre Connections play ‘Mia and the Fish’ , this coming term, with our teenage and young adult students, some from the Robin group, on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

This coming term, term 2, is a 7 week term for most groups and a 6 week term for the Wednesday teenage and Thursday adult group.

From the 14^th November our Thursday Adults classes will now be at Tutt’s Barn Lane dance studios.

The EODS centre now has a bell and camera installed to make the building completely secure. Please make sure you arrive in time for the start of the lesson as we will be locking the building at the start of each lesson.

2024 Term 1 News

We hope you have had a safe and happy summer holidays, and we greatly look forward to starting term 1, the first term of this school year.

We welcome all our new families and students and look forward to starting exciting new projects.

We are proud to announce that we have been selected to take part in the National Theatre Connections Festival again, this was a huge success last year and a great experience for all our students involved.

Our next performance will be ‘The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe’ on the 23rd/24^th November at the Grove Theatre, ticket info and publicity for this will be out soon. It is a beautiful play with music, performed excellently by some of our most experienced students. Our younger students are playing the roles of the children and some of the animals and our adult students are playing the adult roles such as the Professor, Aslan, the Witch etc… in the play.

We try to keep our lesson costs as low as possible but due to increasing costs, I have had to put up all group lessons by 50p. So the hour classes will now be £8 a session and the hour and a half classes will now be £9 a session. Solo and duo lessons will stay the same.

We start back on 31^st August until 26^th October.

It is an 8 week term for the groups starting on the Wednesday 4th, Thursday 5^th and Friday 6^th September.

There is a slight change to times on the Wednesdays for safety. Families were struggling to make 4.30pm from school pick up times so we have made the classes from 4.40-5.40pm and the older class from 5.45pm-7.15pm.
