The Importance of Being Earnest
A new idea for 2025 was the idea of putting on ‘a play in a week’, with the play choice being The Importance of Being Earnest.
Our teenage students attended a week of rehearsals, putting on 2 performances on the last day to family and friends.
These 11 students aged 15-19 pulled off such an incredible production in just 4 days, and 7 of them were also awaiting their GCSE results!
What a week it was!
A brilliant group of young performers, taking on the roles of Jack, Algernon, Gwendolyn, Cecily, Dr Chasuble, Miss Prism and of course, the infamous Lady Bracknell with the famous line ‘a handbag!’. They all took it in their stride, working really hard.
Printers Playhouse was the venue for both the rehearsals and the 2 performances on Friday 22nd August, 2025.
We plan to do another play in a week during the summer holidays of 2026.
